AIAB Stunt Car Racer - assembled by Jaybee (re-uploaded in 2001!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This game was originally on the AIAB site way back when it used to be at ClassicGaming.com. Then, when I was moving to EmuUnlim.com, and I wanted everything to be legal and squeeky -clean, I decided to remove the games that I didnt have permission to use - this included Stunt Car Racer, which was part of the original 'HD-Games' pack. Anyway, it seems MicroStyle/MicroPlay who originally developed the game have long since gone out of business, so I thought It wouldn't harm anyone to put this online again ;) Whats It All About.....now? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi there AmigaInABox peeps! Here is another AmigaInABox classic game upgrade - Stunt Car Racer. Im my memory serves me correctly, this was coded by Geoff Crammond, who went on to do the superb F1GP games, with the third one recently re-released. Anyway, its still a bit of a laugh to play, sure those good 'ol vector graphics look poor compared to any OpenGL racer, yet I still know of a guy who gets tingles in his feet when attempting to race the 'Big Jump' track, and not alot of games can boast that! ;) Big thanks to CodeTapper of Action [http://zap.to/action] for making the WHDload slave for this one. Again, due to some compatibility problems Im experiencing in the more recent WinUAE releases, I've set this up to use JST to play (intead of WHDload) - it works fine, and as a bonus means you dont have to watch the WHDload nag-box (although I'd still recommend you register WHDload though!). Just use a HD-Games configuration in WinUAE, boot the Amiga, and double-click the game icon. The installer adds score/progress saving, trainer, F2 'turbo' key, and Numeric-* quitkey - but check the supplied docs since theres bound to be something I've missed here...;) --------================-------- Tips: In my current WinUAE JIT release (0.8.15b8), the track does not appear to display ~~~~ correctly, with almost 'unfilled' polygons. I dont know if this is a result of the JIT code or not, however its advised you play with a 'trusted' WinUAE version, such as 0.88r8 ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just extract this zipfile to exactly the same place you extracted the first AIAB-2000.zip file, overwriting any files when prompted. Simple, huh? No? Well okay, imagine AIAB is installed in C:\WinUAE, you would have to extract this archive to C:\ Cya! James Maurice Battle - jaybee@aiab.freeserve.co.uk - http://aiab.emuunlim.com
